Welcome to Reception
Reception consists of 1 class with a large shared classroom and outdoor area for children to explore during their child-initiated learning.

Our aim in Reception is to embed in children a love of learning and joy in coming to school. We strive to deliver this through creative, engaging and practical activities based around children’s interest. In Reception children continue to learn from the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum and are assessed using the Development Matters Framework. These assessments are done through meaningful observations and next steps given to each child individually by a range of staff members, and through Literacy books where children can display their initial writing and reading activities. It is a pleasure to see the anticipation and excitement as the children enter the classroom each morning.
